Happy Valley School
Visitor, Tour, and Observation Policy
This policy outlines the procedures and guidelines for visitors, tours, and observations at Happy Valley School, a K-8 charter school located in Peoria, Arizona.
Visitor Policy:
- All visitors, including parents, guardians, community members, and prospective families, must sign in and sign out at the main office upon arrival.
- Visitors must wear a Happy Valley School visitor sticker that is prominently displayed while on school premises.
- All visitors, unless otherwise authorized, must be escorted by a staff member or school representative while on the school premises.
- The safety and well-being of our students is paramount. Visitors are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that prioritizes student safety and student confidentiality, respects the learning environment, and models the character values aligned in our mission.
Classroom Observations:
- Classroom observations are permitted to allow enrolled and perspective parents/guardians to gain insight into the school’s educational environment.
- Classroom observations are by appointment and must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance through the school administration office.
- Parents will be accompanied by school administration.
- Observations are limited to 15 minutes per classroom with a limit of one classroom per day. This limit may be subject to change at the discretion of the school administration.
- Observers must refrain from any form of interaction with students, teachers, or staff during the observation period. Questions or comments should be addressed after the observation with the administration.
- Observers are required to maintain the confidentiality of all students and information observed during the visit and sign a confidentiality agreement prior to the observation.
- Visual and audio recordings on campus are strictly prohibited.
- Any person found to be disruptive on campus is subject to immediate removal from campus.
Tours:
- Tours must be scheduled in advance on our Happy Valley School Website.
- Tours provide an overview of the school’s facilities and learning environment.
- Our registrar and/or principal will lead the tour, providing information about the school’s programs, facilities, and educational philosophy.
Special Events/Assemblies
- Special events, assemblies, and performances are open to enrolled families.
- Notices are sent to parents/guardians regarding events with specific details and requirements.
- All visitors are required to check in at the main office and wear a Happy Valley School visitor sticker while on the school campus.
Exceptions:
- Exceptions to this policy may be granted at the discretion of the school administration, considering factors such as emergencies or special circumstances.
