Dear Parent or Guardian Name:

Children in your household are eligible for a program called SUN Bucks, which helps families buy food during the summer when school is out. Children will automatically be enrolled in the program, so you do not need to apply.

You should automatically receive $120 for each eligible child that you can use to buy food during the summer at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other authorized retailers.

Benefits must be used within 122 days of issuance. Please visit ADE’s Sun Bucks website for more information on benefits.

If your address has changed this year be sure to update it with your school district AND contact the SUN Bucks hotline at 1-833-648-4406 to ensure your benefit card is sent to the right address. If you do not receive your SUN Bucks,
please contact the SUN Bucks hotline: 1-833-648-4406.

If you do not wish to participate in SUN Bucks, please visit the SUN Bucks Opt-out Form.

If you receive more than $120 per eligible child, do not use the extra funds. Contact the SUN Bucks hotline at 1-833-648-4406 to confirm or correct the error.

In addition to SUN Bucks, the children 18 years of age and under in your household can also receive free meals during the summer at a summer meal site. You can call 1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE (or text 914-342-7744 with the keyword “summer meals”) or visit https://www.azhealthzone.org/freesummermeals/ to find the location closest to you.

If you have questions, you can contact the SUN Bucks hotline at 1-833-648-4406.

Dear Parent(s) or Guardian(s),

With summer here you may be thinking about what your child will do for meals while school is out. The good news is that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) partners with organizations in your local community to serve free meals through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). It’s food that’s in, while school is out. There are no income requirements, and any child age 18 and younger may come to eat.

Free meals, that meet Federal nutrition guidelines, are provided to all children at approved SFSP sites in areas with significant concentrations of low-income children by schools, private nonprofits and local or county government organizations.

Unfortunately, we are not operating the SFSP this summer; however, SFSP feeding sites are located throughout the state of Arizona. They offer a combination of breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and suppers. Please visit the SFSP website (https://www.azhealthzone.org/freesummermeals/) to learn more about the SFSP and to find information about feeding sites near you.

Information on site locations can be found using the Summer Food Services
Program Locations Map
at https://www.fns.usda.gov/summer/sunmeals

Hope you have a healthy and fun summer – thank you!
