Happy Valley School is committed to developing strong character alongside academic excellence. We believe that education is most meaningful when students are taught not only what to learn, but how to live with integrity, responsibility, and purpose.

At Happy Valley School, we believe strong character is the foundation for success in school and in life, and we are committed to helping every student grow into a confident, capable, and principled leader.

Through our character education program, students learn that strong character is reflected in daily choices, actions, and attitudes. We intentionally teach and reinforce qualities such as honesty, respect, patience, responsibility, kindness, and perseverance, helping students grow into dependable and compassionate individuals.

The Leader in Me Program

Our school integrates the Leader in Me program throughout all grade levels to build leadership skills and personal accountability. Students learn to take initiative, set goals, work collaboratively, and develop habits that support both academic success and positive relationships at school, at home, and in the community.

In addition, all students are taught the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, encouraging them to be proactive, set meaningful goals, and develop leadership habits that prepare them for lifelong success.

At Happy Valley School, we believe that every child has unique talents and strengths to offer. Through our CliftonStrengths approach, students learn to recognize, celebrate, and develop their individual strengths while building confidence, character, and meaningful relationships. Our teachers also embrace their own strengths and intentionally use them to guide, inspire, and connect with students in ways that foster growth and success. By creating a strengths-based culture, we empower our entire school community to lead with purpose, appreciate the strengths of others, and become the best versions of themselves.

Positive character is recognized and celebrated throughout the year with Eagle Excellence Awards. These awards honor students who demonstrate outstanding qualities such as responsibility, diligence, kindness, respect, generosity, and leadership.
