Obviously, we are starting to see the COVID cases in our community rising. We now have 3 positive cases on our campus and numerous students out on quarantine. Our Facilities Team Members continue to disinfect all areas of the campus, including potentially exposed areas by COVID-19 and we continually disinfect all high touchpoint surface areas through out our campus through out the day.
Given this surge and the ever increasing list of symptoms, we have decided that a student with ONE symptom will be sent home at this time to be monitored. We urge you to continue using our “at home screening tool” daily prior to sending your student to campus. Do not send your student to school when not feeling well or complaints of any symptoms. We wish to do our best to be as proactive as we possibly can at this time.
We will be changing our mask policy effective Monday, December 7th. We will no longer allow shields, masks with valves or gators. Your student must have a face mask that covers the nose/mouth entirely. “ CDC does not recommend use of face shields for normal everyday activities or as a substitute for masks because of a lack of evidence of their effectiveness for source control.”
If your student presents to school with a face shield/gator, valved mask or anything other than a mask that FULLY covers the mouth/nose, we will provide a mask at school for your student and require adherence to follow our set policy of use.
Here is the CDC link regarding face masks. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cloth-face-cover-guidance.html
Reminder your students face mask needs to be washed/cleaned daily.
We want our school to stay open, we want our staff and students healthy.
If you should have any concerns or questions regarding the above changes, please direct your questions to me or Mrs. McDonald.
Thank you for your continued support to keep our campus safe and healthy as possible.
Take good care,
Heather Tibbett, School Nurse
