The weather is finally heating up and all the beautiful flowers and trees are blooming. I hope you and your family have been able to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. While we welcome the spring air, many children and adults within our community will soon (or already are) experience the annoying symptoms of seasonal allergies.
This year we must be mindful of the overlapping symptoms between COVID-19 and seasonal allergies. Our COVID-19 illness policy will remain as-is and any students with any symptom(s)of illness (cough/sore throat/nasal congestion/headache etc.) should not come to school. All students must be at least 24 hours without symptoms prior to returning to school and those with multiple/ “red flag symptoms” must be evaluated by a healthcare provider.
To limit absences related to seasonal allergy symptoms, we urge you to speak with your child’s healthcare provider for recommendations on how to prevent or manage these symptoms, and any documentation from your provider stating your student has a history of allergies is welcome and will help us evaluate the need for sending home for further evaluation by your provider and/or COVID testing.
We are hopeful that a proactive approach will keep students learning on campus.
Thank you for your continued understanding and our need to maintain strict mitigation measures at this time.
As always, we appreciate your partnership in keeping our campus safe and your understanding with some of the inconveniences this year has seen.
