Student Life
We strive to model and instill self-discipline, good character, leadership skills, and a strong academic work ethic in the children entrusted to our care.
Weekly Assemblies:
Assemblies are held every Friday in the Cafeteria at 8:30 a.m. Assembly begins with the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag and a patriotic song. One class leads the assembly, presenting information about the life and contributions to society of a famous person in history. Another class contributes to the Assembly with a special presentation such as a poem or song and describes the Character Quality that we are studying. Character Qualities include such traits as honesty, loyalty, perseverance, initiative, responsibility, and sensitivity to the needs of others.
Yeee-Haaaa Party!!:
An Ice Cream Party with the Principal is held each month for one student in each class who receives the most Yeee-Haaaas. Students may be awarded a Yeee-Haaaa by any staff member in recognition for demonstrating exceptional character, high academic achievement, or exemplary behavior. In order to qualify for the party, the Yeee-Haaaa must be taken home by the student, signed by a parent and returned to school. We want parents to be aware of positive behavior and students to assume the responsibility for taking the award home, having it signed and bringing it back to school. After the office records the Yeee-Haaaa, it is returned to the student with a sticker on it. Congratulations go out to all of those students who do their best and work hard for these awards!
